Quantum Mottle definition: radio-graphic noise

Where we are now |
Quantum mottle is an x-ray term used to describe noise on an x-ray film. I learned it years ago when I was a radiography student and loved the term. I decided at the time I wanted to use it for something, it was painted on the back of a guitar for a number of years and eventually decided to make it the name of my record label. In 2020, QMR published two records for Blue Hand Grit. These were largely practice records to get back into the swing of recording after being out of a studio for 9 years. "Bigfoot in a Bar" (country) and Retrospectrum (space rock) are available on online streaming platforms for music.

After releasing the first two records a more meaningful record was released entitled "Flicker in the Dusk". It is a Christian album and the first to be released by Brian Anthony Lynch as a solo artist. A follow up album entitled "When Necessary Use a Guitar" was released later in 2021 to work as a stylistic bridge between the first album and the third album "Blue Gospel Soul" which is available February 2, 2022.
